Pictures have arrived this week showing the progress on the smokebox door hinges and door straps. The ring half of the hinges are complete and the door hinge and straps cut to size ready for machining.
As has been mentioned previously, the smokebox door and ring are identical to those for King, Castle, and 47xx class locomotives - another example of GW standardisation.
